Henri Deléger

Henri Deléger started playing the trumpet at the age of seven, going on to study at the Regional Conservatoires of Versailles and Rueil-Malmaison, the Paris-Sorbonne University, the Conservatoire de Paris and, most recently, at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, Zurich.

Deléger has learned from and worked with internationally renowned
artists such as Frédéric Mellardi, Matthias Höfs, and trumpeter and composer Markus Stockhausen. Semi-finalist of the Maurice André International Competition in 2006,
he regularly performs with Le Balcon. He has appeared in numerous festivals in France and abroad, and has performed with many leading orchestras. He collaborates with the English pop-electronic group Gorillaz.

In 2012 Deléger played Michael in the second act of Karlheinz Stockhausen’s Donnerstag aus Licht. His interpretation was welcomed by Pierre Boulez, and he went on to give a full performance in 2018 at the National Theater of the Opera Comique. Deléger will play Michael for the continuation of the LICHT cycle, performing in Samstag aus Licht in June at the Philharmonie de Paris. He co-founded and directs Le Tréteau, an association which champions outreach and promotes inclusion in the arts.
