Augustin Muller

Computer Music Designer

After studying music (classical percussion, jazz and improvised music) and scientific studies, Augustin Muller was trained at the Conservatoire de Paris (CNSMDP) and graduated in Advanced Sound Technology in 2010.

A Director in Computer Music Design at IRCAM, Augustin works in France and abroad with a range of artists and ensembles, including Le Balcon, Ensemble intercontemporain, l’Instant Donné, International Contemporary Ensemble and the Geneva Chamber Orchestra. He has directed and performed at festivals such as Manifesto, Musical Biennale of Venice, Musica, Festival Berlioz.

At a time when opportunities abound to work with mixed repertoire, Augustin is passionate about the issues of interpretation, transmission and preservation of works using electronics. He has worked with different composers – Michael Levinas, Pedro Garcia-Velasquez, JP Carreño, Henry Foures – musicians and performers and is involved in producing and broadcasting a range of artistic projects involving advanced computer music design. A particular highlight is a collaboration in 2017 with Othman Louati and Le Balcon on a mixed ensemble performance of Pierre Henry’s Dracula.
