Le Balcon & Tokyo University of the Arts
Le Balcon has embarked on a large-scale educational project with the Tokyo University of the Arts (Geidai).
From 2025 to 2028, Le Balcon mentors students in music, production, and visual creation to collectively build a long-term artistic project.
The project, initiated by Kazumi Minoguchi, began with an online masterclass in the summer of 2024 bringing together several members of Le Balcon and the students.
As a second step, an exhibition on Le Balcon's productions took place at the University in October 2025, curated by student Ghada Hadil Ben Fredj: "Le Balcon, Playing With The Spirits Of Time And Space".
As a third step, four members of Le Balcon travelled to Tokyo in December 2025 for a week-long residency, in order to build with the students a first phase of the project, culminating in a major concert in the University's Hall 6 auditorium. The participants from Le Balcon were: Iris Zerdoud (production director and clarinettist), Gaspard Kiejman (production manager), Alphonse Cemin (pianist and conductor) and You Jung Han (violinist). The students also benefited from the involvement of Dai Matsuoka, dancer and founder of LAND FES.
The next phase of the project will take place in early 2027 in Tokyo.
