Like Flesh, the album
Trapped in an unhappy marriage, a woman yearns for a world beyond the confines of the flesh and an existence free from the conventions of human society. A young lover's secret desire causes an explosive metamorphosis, which restores the woman's freedom by transforming her into a tree. With Like Flesh, his first opera with a libretto by Cordelia Lynn, Sivan Eldar composes a poetic fresco inspired by Ovid's Metamorphoses. A new ecofeminist myth about our broken relationship with an environment in crisis, performed by Maxime Pascal and Le Balcon, incorporating electronic music produced in the IRCAM studios and captured live by b•records at the Lille Opera.
