Akino Kamiya

A percussionist with a degree from Aichi Prefectural University in Japan, Akino Kamiya studied marimba in Éric Sammut's class at the Paris Conservatoire, then percussion in Michel Cerutti's class at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, as well as chamber music.
She has performed with French and Japanese orchestras, including the Orchestre de Paris, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre de l'Opéra de Paris, the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Orchestre National de Lorraine, and the Nagoya Philharmonic.
She also participates in numerous creative projects with contemporary music ensembles such as Le Balcon and L'Itinéraire, and at festivals. With the duo L’Iris (percussion-piano), formed with Yoko Kojiri, Akino Kamiya has performed in France and Japan and won First Prize at the 13th International Competition for Contemporary Chamber Music in Krakow.
In 2021, she performed the solo part in Stockhausen's Inori at the Salzburg Festival with Le Balcon. She plays numerous parts from the Licht cycle, including one of the six magical senses in Samstag aus Licht and the percussionist who appears throughout Montag aus Licht.
