Benoit Maurin
After studying music at the conservatories of Lyon and Saint-Étienne, he obtained a master's degree in performance and the certificate of aptitude for percussion teaching at the CNSM in Paris. Passionate about orchestras, he participated in the Gustav Mahler Jungendorchester under the direction of Philippe Jordan, then at the Lucerne Festival Academy under the direction of Pierre Boulez. Regularly invited by the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio-France and the Paris Orchestra, he is a member of the Paris Percussion Group within which he is committed to promoting the protean world of percussion instruments. A versatile artist, Benoît Maurin leads several creative projects with IRCAM and the ensemble Le Balcon. In 2019 he participated in the production of the show Electre/Oreste on the stage of the Comédie Française.
