Gaspard Kiejman

Holding a Master's degree in Law, specializing in International Law, from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, and two Master's degrees in Comparative Studies of Economic and Social Development from Paris 1 and the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Gaspard Kiejman chose to work in the music sector in 2017. After an internship in the editorial department of the Philharmonie de Paris – Cité de la Musique, and a first position in the Education and Cultural Action Department of IRCAM, he joined Le Balcon in September 2018, for the debut of Karlheinz Stockhausen's complete Licht.
As a production manager, he works on all concerts and shows presented by Le Balcon. In 2024, he worked closely with Augustin Muller on the play "C'est toi qui donnes le son" (It's You Who Gives the Sound), presented at the Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac, and with Othman Louati on the film-concert adaptation of "La Planète Sauvage" (Fantastic Planet), in collaboration with Nitaï Hershkovits. He also directed the production of "Lundis Musicaux" (Musical Mondays), produced by Le Balcon at the Athénée Théâtre Louis-Jouvet, a series of recitals under the artistic direction of Alphonse Cemin.
Through his studies, which led him to conduct two research projects in San Francisco and Oakland, he was introduced to American music, particularly the work of composers Morton Feldman, George Crumb, and Robert Ashley.
In addition to the productions of the Licht cycle, he offers introductory sessions on the electronic music of Karlheinz Stockhausen. A seven-episode podcast is also dedicated to this aspect of the German composer's work. He also designed a discovery session of Pierre Henry's electronic music for the Dracula concert at the Lille Opera, for which he worked on a carte blanche offered to Jacques Auberger.
As a musician, he has released two EPs: Deserted Islands, on cello; and Pavillon, on guitar, with singer Aure.
