Haga Ratovo

Pianiste / clavier électronique
Le Balcon - Haga Ratovo

Of Malagasy origin, Haga Ratovo began playing the piano at the age of ten at the Poitiers Conservatory in Alain Villard's class before continuing his studies at the CNSMD in Paris with Jean-François Heisser and Marie-Josèphe Jude, and then concluding his studies with Bjorn Lehmann at the UdK in Berlin.

Involved in contemporary creation (Michaël Levinas, Violeta Cruz, Othman Louati, Maël Bailly, Laurent Durupt, etc.), he developed a close relationship with the ensembles Le Balcon and Links. With Links, he recorded Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians, a performance that received critical acclaim (Diapason d'Or in 2021). He has a European career, collaborating with artists such as performer and pianist Alvise Sinivia, director Maxime Kurvers, visual artist Mathieu Kleyebe Abonnenc, director Jela Hasler, and dancer and choreographer Kaori Ito.

In collaboration with director Clara Chabalier, he is developing his first project, Notre Musique (Our Music), an augmented piano recital scheduled to premiere in fall 2026, inspired by the music of Claude Debussy and his relationship to colonization.

He has been teaching at the Créteil Regional Conservatory since 2018.
