Benjamin Lazar

Director and actor Benjamin Lazar has been combining theatre and music since his earliest performances. His recent opera productions include Handel's Tolomeo at the Karlsruhe Theater, Benjamin's Written on Skin and Wagner's The Flying Dutchman at the Cologne Opera, Lully's Acis and Galatée at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Florence), and Sartorio's Orfeo at the Montpellier Opera. Within his company, Le Théâtre de l'incrédule, he directs the cycle L'Entremonde, a platform of performances and workshops in binaural sound around the notion of the inner image, and collaborates with the composer Pedro García Velásquez. This 2024-2025 season, he creates the show La Grande Affabulation with the Maîtrise populaire of the Opéra-Comique and conductor Geoffroy Jourdain. We will also see Sartorio's Orfeo on tour with the troupe of the Arcal lyric company and Traviata, you deserve a better future (production of the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord).
