Soprano
Le Balcon - Pia Davila

Pia Davila is a versatile singer. In addition to concert repertoire and sacred music, she is committed to new works, new forms of musical theatre, and new artistic concepts. In the field of opera, she mainly sings Baroque operas and works from the contemporary repertoire, where she has established herself in major productions within a few years. She has performed at the Städtische Bühnen Osnabrück, the Staatstheater Braunschweig, the Theater Bremen, the Staatsoper Hamburg, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and the Munich Biennale. In the summer of 2024, she was invited to the Salzburg Festival to sing the lead role of Jasmin in the opera Koma under the direction of Bas Wiegers. A new recording of Wilhelmine Bayreuth's opera Argenore will be released in June 2025. In spring 2026, she will perform Haydn's Zanaide with the Kammerakademie Potsdam.

The music of Karlheinz Stockhausen occupies an important place in Pia Davila's work. In 2019, she sang Dienstag and Donnerstag aus Licht for the first time at the Dutch Opera Amsterdam, directed by Pierre Audi. In collaboration with Maxime Pascal and Le Balcon in Paris, she performed Donnerstag under the direction of Benjamin Lazar, Sonntag directed by Ted Hoffmann, and Montag by Silvia Costa, at the Philharmonie de Paris and the Opéra de Lille.

Thanks to her intense international concert activity, Pia Davila performs throughout Europe, performing in major churches, contemporary music festivals, and festivals dedicated to Johann Sebastian Bach and Baroque music. Twenty-six works have been composed especially for her. Alongside her musical activities, she is involved in social projects; in 2019, as part of her work with refugees, she was invited to the Federal President's New Year's reception at Bellevue Palace.

The German soprano, born in Berlin, studied in Hamburg with Professor Jörn Dopfer at the University of Music and Theater, where she graduated with distinction in March 2018.
