Le Balcon - Pierre Michel

Born in 1986 near Rouen, Pierre learned music from a very young age. Asleep on the lined up chairs in the Maromme community hall, he became familiar at a very early age with the waltz, the paso-doble and the marches played until the early hours by his parents' accordion. He was certain that he would be the drummer accompanying the Saturday night dancers. However, he needed a solid training that he acquired over the years with renowned percussion teachers such as Franck Dupont, Pascal Zavaro, Philippe Bajard, Catherine Favre, Michel Gastaud, Renaud Muzzolini and Jean-Claude Gengembre. This training, carried out with diligence, subsequently allowed him to perform with a large number of prestigious groups throughout Europe (the Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchester, the Rouen Opera, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège, the Pasdeloup Orchestra, the National Orchestra of the Capitole of Toulouse, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France). Returning to his first loves, he had the opportunity to be the drummer of the post-rock group KWOON during two tours with which he traveled through Germany, Poland, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Romania as well as Serbia and Bosnia. Today, always curious about new creations and ambitious projects, he divides his time between the music of the Air de Paris and the young groups of the Balcon, the Frivolités Parisiennes as well as the Symphonia Pop Orchestra. Pierre plays a DW drum kit and Tournier 1905 Timpani.
