Born in 1992 in Seoul, South Korea, Yechang Jung began playing the oboe at the age of 9 and a few years later moved to France to study with Jean-Claude Jaboulay at the Conservatoire régional de Paris and Maurice Bourgue in private lessons. Admitted to the Conservatoire supérieur de Paris (CNSM de Paris) in the class of David Walter and Frédéric Tardy, he obtained his master's degree unanimously with honors. He won first prize at the Chieri International Competition and was a finalist in the Sony Karuizawa Competition where he received an honorable mention. He has performed as a soloist with the KBS Symphony Orchestra (Korean Broadcasting System), the Basel Chamber Orchestra alongside Gauthier Capucon, the Daejon Philharmonic Orchestra, the Torino Sinfonietta, the Gunma Symphony Orchestra, and the CNR Orchestra of Paris. He is invited to play with major French orchestras (Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra, Paris Orchestra, etc.)
