Yua Souverbie

Yua Souverbie began playing the transverse flute at the Dijon Conservatory, before continuing her studies at the CRR in Paris in the class of Claude Lefebvre, then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in the class of Pierre-Yves Artaud, from which she graduated in 2008. She has also benefited from the guidance of great names in the flute such as Patrick Gallois, Jacques Zoon, Michel Debost and Andras Adorjan during masterclasses. An accomplished orchestral musician, she was a member of the Verbier Festival Orchestra from 2008 to 2011, as well as the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra where she played under the direction of prestigious conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Klaus Mäkelä, Valery Gergiev, Kurt Masur and Paavo Jarvi. She is regularly invited to perform with the Paris Opera Orchestra, the Paris Orchestra, the Paris Chamber Orchestra, the Bordeaux Acquitaine National Orchestra, etc. Very involved in contemporary creation, Yua attended the Lucerne Festival Academy in 2006 and 2007 under the direction of Pierre Boulez and Peter Eotvos. She frequently plays with the Intercontemporain ensemble, l’Itinéraire, Multilatérale, 2e2m and with Le Balcon since 2013. Holder of the Diplôme d’Etat de flûte, she teaches flute and chamber music at the Conservatoire du 5ème arrondissement in Paris, and gives masterclasses all over the world (United States, Mexico, Spain, Lebanon).
