Sonntag aus Licht is the final opera in the cycle. It is performed in two parts: scenes 1 and 2 on 16 and 17 November 2023 in the Concert Hall at the Cité de la Musique, and scenes 3, 4 and 5 on 20 November 2023 in the Grande Salle Pierre Boulez at the Philharmonie de Paris.

According to Stockhausen, Sunday is the day of Michael and Eva's mystical union, which gives rise to the birth of Monday. From a compositional perspective, Sonntag is the most pared-down piece in the Licht cycle. Among his many ideas, the composer has developed a concept already present in Helikopter-Streichquartett: the dream of multispatial, unitemporal music.
