Samstag aus Licht is Lucifer's day: the day of death, of the dance of death, of farewell and the passage to the light. Written between 1981 and 1984, the opera resembles a long, mysterious prayer, articulated by a salute and four scenes dedicated to Michael's enemy brother: his reverie, his feigned death, the dance of his face and his farewell.
