Simon Guidicelli

Doublebassist

Born in 1989, Simon Guidicelli began playing double bass at the age of eight at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Aix-en-Provence. In 2008, he graduated with distinction and was admitted straight into the National Conservatory of Music of Paris. He performs regularly with the national orchestra of the Capitole de Toulouse as well as with the Orchestre national de France, the orchestra of Opéra national de Paris, the Montpellier Chamber Orchestra. He has also performed under prestigious conductors such as Tugan Sokhiev, Daniele Gatti, Philippe Jordan, Kristjan Järvi and Harmut Haenchen. He has collaborated with Le Balcon, on a wide variety of concerts and projects, including Berlioz’ Symphonie fantastique, Arthur Lavandier’s opera Le Premier Meurtre, Peter Eötvös’ Le Balcon and Pedro Garcia-Velasquez’s Lieux Perdus . He is also involved in the production of projects for Le Poème Harmonique and Le Balcon. In 2018-19 he performs in the opera Donnerstag aus Licht.
